JOHN K. SAMSON – WINTER WHEAT VINYL (2LP GATEFOLD W/ ETCHED D-SIDE)

Description

2LP GATEFOLD VINYL W/ ETCHED D-SIDE

Release Date: 21st October 2016

We’ve finally got one of our favourite records from last year in-stock! John K. Samson better known as the front-man of the incredible but sadly now non-existent The Weakerthans and as a former bassist in the punk legends Propagandi brings us his latest and greatest solo offering thus far. Winter Wheat is inspired by the search for connection and community his hometown of Winnipeg and our individual and collective struggles with addictions to drugs screens and fossil fuels. It was produced in garages and homes through a Winnipeg winter by Samson’s partner and collaborator Christine Fellows and his Weakerthans co-founder and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Jason Tait. It’s utterly delightful in Samson’s classic bitter-sweet melancholy ranging from quiet folk outpourings that will have you sobbing like a baby to the guitar-soaked Neil Young homage.
